In our first episode of the Elixia Podcast series, we had an insightful conversation with our MD & Founder, Sanket Sheth, about the consequences that led to the conceptualization of the Logistics ERP solution.
The Indian logistics sector accounts for approx 14% of the country’s GDP. Almost 90% of this sector is run by unorganized logistics businesses in India. By unorganized, we mean businesses that heavily rely on manual work and coordination for their day-to-day logistics operations. Sanket introduced Elixia Speed back in 2010 to enable seamless real-time tracking of vehicles in transit. But after his interaction with logistics service providers in India, he realized the importance of bringing digitalization & automation to logistics & transportation processes. That’s when Elixia’s ERP was conceptualized.
Elixia’s Logistics ERP solution automates the entire logistics process from order booking to delivery. It starts with digitally recording order booking and generating Consignment notes (CR) for all the orders. Transporters & vehicles are then automatically selected and assigned using the Allocation module. The real-time tracking solution with the help of GPS, SIM card & API integration (to get status from other GPS vendors) provides an instant status update of the vehicle/shipment in transit. External integrations like e-way management, FasTag & Fuelcard further bring in more transparency & efficiency in the process. Once the delivery is completed, electronic proof of delivery (e-PoD) can be instantly updated & shared with relevant stakeholders via Elixia’s web & App-based platform. The transporters can also maintain and manage their vehicles using Fleet App and maintain their Fleet health. The bills & financial transactions across this complete process get automatically recorded in the billing module to avoid any errors due to duplicity or unknown charges in logistics payments.
